Official thread for non-ps3 renderers (Bravia, etc.)

Discuss alternative media renderers (not PS3) supported by PS3 Media Server (like Xbox 360 and TV's)

Re: Official thread for non-ps3 renderers (Bravia, etc.)

I tried PMS latest stable version and beta version with my Popcorn C-200/A-200. At first, the PMS would detect the unit as WDTV Live, so I went into the renderer profile (Popcorn.conf) and edit UserAgentSearch=SYABAS|C-200. It works for the detection part.

However, with all the RMVB files I always get "Could not play" message on my C-200/A-200 screen. The folders and files are browsable and accessible. The AVIs are working (I guess it sends without transcoding), but just not RMVB. I tested the same setup with Realtek's Xtreamer, RMVB played fine. I forced transcoding in the conf because Xtreamer support RMVB natively.

Any help?

I'm using XBMC and the PS3 as a UPNP server. When I try to watch a mkv file (in a rar-archive) the PS3MS is using MEncoder on the file. If I unrar the file the [MEncoder] tag behind the file disappears. Bug?

I really enjoy this on the PS3, and it would be wonderful on the LG.
I will gladly donate if this is possible.

Anyone ever get the BD390 working? If so please Post or PM me your .conf file.

It appears to be identified as a WDTv Live by PS3 Media Server. I can browse the directory structure, but when I try and play it video it just times out and sits there.

I have a Brite-View player that worked fine until I upgraded to 392. I am using the realtek.conf file that was recommended in another thread.

I can browse the directories just as I used to. When I click on an audio file (regardless of format) and the menu just sits there. When I try to play video files (regardless of format) I see a "format not supported" message. In both cases nothing is written back to the trace log. Once again, all of these files worked before the upgrade.

Any ideas?

Hi,
I keep having problems with ntsc movies on my Bravia W5500. Sometimes the sound gets screwed when subs are activated but sometimes even without subs. Probably not transcoded to the exact right format. The movie plays a little too fast as well. What can this be?

Just tried r396 and began testing the "MediaInfo" section. Now I'm not sure if I'm jumping th gun here, as it may only be correctly implemented for the PS3 at the moment. However I thought I'd give it a shot with my Denon receiver. First I created the renderer file below for the Denon (including the invoke string from the Device Spy).

It starts up and detects the Denon, however when I go to select the media library directory the logs get stuck in some kind of loop with the following:

Code: Select all

If I set MediaInfo=false it (almost) behaves allowing me to traverse the directories, although then I get multiple directory entris added as mentioned in my thread here:

http://www.ps3mediaserver.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5657

I think the MediaInfo method is the way to go, but should I be trying it yet or too early?
I would like to get this working for the Denon so if theres any info or tests I can help with please let me know.

Cheers
