No Video on Bravia KDL-46XBR9

Postby rskainth82 » Tue Dec 22, 2009 8:09 am

I bought new sony bravia KDL46XBR9 and I am trying out different media servers available to stream video onto my TV. When I read about PS3 media server I was hoping that it would work with my TV as for others it seems to be working. But to my disappointment PS3 media server on my TV shows the media folders and inside that it shows a transcode folder like #TRANSCODE# but when I open that folder for actual video it doesn;t show my any files and even if files are shown like .AVI files they won't open, on opening it just shows that there are "no items to display". Can some one please solve this issue with SONY KDL46XBR9? Is this related to a new .conf file for KDL-46XBR9 or there is some other issue?

Shagrath,

If you can please help me out and resolve this problem as soon as possible, I would be really thankful to you. I am using 1.11.368 version of PS3.

Thanks,
Rupinder

Thanks for the info Shagrath. Yes, I am based out of North America. And after much digging into the forums , the tutorials and trying out different options available, I somehow got it working. I had to make following changes to the 5500.conf file so that media server recognizes my tv

UserAgentAdditionalHeaderSearch=BRAVIA KDL-46XBR9

and to play videos as mentioned in other posts the following changes.

TranscodeExtensions=AVC/AAC/MP4
StreamExtensions=AVI
DLNAProfileChanges=MPEG_PS_PAL=MPEG_PS_NTSC|MPEG_TS_SD_EU=MPEG_TS_SD_NA|MPEG_TS_SD_EU_ISO=
MPEG_TS_SD_NA_ISO

Note: the last line should be a single line in the file

But I am able to use only AViSynth/FFMpeg transcoding for my AVIs, for other engines TV says File not supported.

Anyways many thanks Shagrath for making such excellent media server, which is the only server which can stream my videos to my TV. Keep up the good work.

Hello,

I had the same problem with W5500. Setting the transcoder quality value to keyint=3 fixed my problem.
