I'll post the latest beta builds here that are interesting for mac users. Warning: these builds are not release ready and are likely to have (serious) bugs and incomplete features. If you are uncomfortable with this, wait for the official release.

http://ps3mediaserver.googlecode.com/fi ... 9-BETA.dmg (26 mb)

If you want to keep updated about future beta (and official) releases, you can also follow me on Twitter: http://twitter.com/Redlum

The current beta has a lot of interesting new stuff for mac users, especially the tsmuxer and mediainfo support.

v1.20.409 BETA

- Changes / Features

MediaInfo support by default for PS3/XBOX, ongoing work on other renderers:

-> Proper auto detection of non supported files (PS3: Mpeg w/ DTS, Qpel/Gmc/H264 AVI files, Apple Lossless AAC files, 6 channels WMV, etc.)
OS X: Switched to Java 6 which means Tiger is no longer supported, Leopard only with a 64bit capable processor (Intel Core 2 or newer) and Snow Leopard works with all Intel processors.
AIFF support
MP4 Cover art support

- Fixes

Issues with some audio m4a and video mp4 files (wrong mime types)
Slowdown on FLAC media library scan

v1.10.6 through 1.11.381 BETA versions

OS X: Native look, now looks more like a Mac application
OS X: Updated mencoder/mplayer/ffmpeg builds, support for FriBidi

Running on my Unibody MacBook Pro

2.8Ghz / 4GB RAM / Gigabit Ethernet

No problems, resolved the sudden stopping it seems for some of my more promblematic MKV files. Plus the new UI looks great. Keep up the great work and Thanks.

All runs well, the only thing I'd like added is forcing remuxing of M4V files as the PS3 struggles streaming and playing at the same time for some odd reason.

Nice work dudes!

Hi.

Just learning to use PMS, but I like it a lot! Wanted to report a bug in the beta.

INTERFACE BUG

I have a MacBook Pro, Native Resolution 1440x900. In the "Transcoding Settings" Tab, I can see the "Misc Options" header, but nothing below that because it's at the bottom of the PMS window (full sized on my MBP). I'd like to request a slider bar on the right to move the interface up/down to allow access to the Misc Options items. I resized my window as much as I could and got access to "Definitely Disable Subtitles" but anything below that is dead to me! :-)

DTS BUG.

I have "Keep DTS Audio in Stream" set. Does this handle DTS HD MA? My amp shows only "DTS," which implies it's only DTS core, though I'm pretty sure I have a DTS-HD MA source.

The bug is that I LOSE sound about 1-2 minutes into the movie. I Followed dialog box directions!... and since I get sound at the beginning, I'm suspicious of the "passhtru" (which, from my understanding, pads the DTS data to make it look like LPCM, so not a strict "passthru").

Thanks.

the interface issue is a known one

about the DTS-HD, it will just stream the DTS core, cause there's no known way to stream a full DTS-HD MA to the ps3 (as of today)
before losing the sound, try to jump in the video (triangle, jump in function and select another time) to see if this is reproductible and not tied to
a specific time in the video

Mac Pro 10.5.6
Mac Pro is Wireless (connected at N speed)
PS3 is Wired 1gigabit

Streaming the same mp4 file - plays straight from memory stick in ps3 so thought it might be a good test file.
Vuze Devices - plays no problem
Medialink 1.72 - plays no problem
PS3 Media Server - gets a few seconds in and always get network error content cannot be played 80028808

Yeah I know I should probably have my Mac Pro wired but its easier to have it wireless and I hoped N would help.

well it's a known issue since day 1... will not be fixed until a motivated Java developer on OSX take a look on this :p
meanwhile, if you could get network captures of these trials, that could help

Tried this version on Mac Pro and I get choppy video frames. The play back appears to be playing back in real slow motion. I switched back to the stable version and everything is fine. My mac pro uses all 4 cores for transcoding. The one issue I can't seem to resolve is the playback of m2ts files. When I place the largest ripped m2ts file in the video folder, the PS3 Server refuse to play it and the message "data corrupt" comes up. I tied to play a ripped ISO file and get the same message

Other than this issue the Mac OS X version works great! Do you have a donation feature for your time and efforts?

Thanks to all who develop this program.
